Charitable Bequests & Gifts
Help Keep Them Safe
Being a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving abandoned dogs and cats, Little Shelter needs your help
Whether during your lifetime or through your will, making a gift to Little Shelter is one of the most gratifying acts you can perform. You will be a true partner in saving animals and can achieve considerable tax benefits for yourself or your estate.
Gifts made by December 31st are deductible in the current year and will reduce taxes
Giving long term appreciated property may bring greater tax savings
Giving through wills, trusts and other financial planning vehicles can be convenient and economical
Many people review their overall estate and financial plans at the end of the year to achieve maximum giving and tax savings
There are many ways to make bequests and donations.
A gift can consist of almost anything-money, bank accounts, securities, works of art or real estate. If a gift is to take effect after your lifetime, it may be contained in either your will or your trust, depending upon the structure of your estate plan
We suggest that you discuss various options with your attorney. We will be happy to assist you and your advisors with your plans to fulfill your charitable goals.
You can be sure that your gifts will be used wisely.
No animal in our care is ever “put to sleep” unless it is incurably ill or suffering. Each year, we adopt over two thousand animals into carefully selected homes. We do extensive work in the community to help people with problems relating to their “animal friends” We are also helping address the problems of “alley cats” through our rescue programs and have recently established a Sanctuary that will help homeless animals
We strongly encourage you to visit Little Shelter in person and learn more about our valuable life saving programs or take a “virtual tour online at www.littlesher.com
Our doors are open 7 days a week and our resident animals and staff are always happy to see visitors. For more information or to arrange a tour please call 631 368 8770. In the neighborhood? Just stop by, our hours are Monday thru Friday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m.
