THE SECOND ANNUAL SHELTER MAKEOVER CONTEST IS HERE!

It’s here – the second annual shelter makeover contest has been launched by Zootoo.com! The first contest, which ended in May, saw Little Shelter come so close to winning. With the help of our supporters we finished 4th in the nationwide contest which saw almost 1,000 shelters compete for the grand prize. While we weren’t the grand winners, we walked away with $6,000 in cash donations, a new computer, two new video cameras, increased adoptions and a tremendous outpouring of support from the community. Now we have a second chance to make it to the top, and with your help, we know we can do it!

Phase I - 9/18/08 – 3/13/09

Little Shelter supporters can earn points and add to our tally by registering on Zootoo.com, selecting Little Shelter as your affiliated shelter and earning more points by being an active member! The 20 shelters with the highest points at the end of this phase will become semi-finalists!

When registering be sure to enter zip code 11743 and select Little Shelter as the shelter you are supporting.
After registering you will receive a confirmation email. Click the link in that email to validate your account.

Just by completing the registration process you will be adding 100 points to Little Shelter’s tally!

You can earn more points to help us rise to the top of the rankings by:

Inviting friends, family and coworkers to join through the ‘Invite Friends’ link

Writing product and service reviews
Adding photo and video reviews of pet products and services you use
Commenting on news stories
Adopting a pet from Little Shelter and entering the special code on your Zootoo Pet Adoption Certificate (if you adopted a dog or cat after September 18, 2008 and have not received your code, please contact Jodi at jodi@littleshelter.com)

Zootoo and its advisors will tour all top 20 shelters to view their conditions and narrow them down to the top 10

Phase III – 4/4/09 to 4/24/09

It’s time to vote! The winners of the first contest were selected by Zootoo.com and its advisors. This time the winners will be selected by AMERICA!
