Doggie Swimsuit Competition – 12:00pm (Open to the public)
Little Shelter dogs will strut their stuff and show off their figures in our first annual doggie swimsuit competition. Members of the public are encouraged to attend with their own four-legged friends. Prizes will be awarded to those sporting the best and most creative canine beach-wear and accessories!
Legendary New York Rangers Player, Gilles Villemure
12:00pm – 3:00pm
Former New York Rangers Player, Gilles Villemure, will be on hand to meet with fans and sign autographs. Come on down and meet this legendary NHL star!
Search & Rescue Display – 1:00pm
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department will educate the audience about the great work they do with their canine coworkers. Demonstrations include drug detection and suspect apprehension.
Karate Demonstration – 2:00pm
Deshi Jean and students from Dix Hills Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts Center will show some of their amazing self-defense skills.
10 Year Old Singing Sensation KAYLA STARR – 3:00pm
Listen to this talented girl as she takes you back to yester-year with the ‘golden oldies’. Kayla will have CD’s for sale. $1 from each CD sold will be donated to Little Shelter. Visit her website at www.kaylastarr.net.
Beagle In The Haystack Kids Game – 3:45pm
Watch the hay fly as kids search the haystack for hidden items. All kids that find an item will select a prize, but don’t worry, nobody will walk away empty handed!
Musical Pawprints – 4:00pm
All kids are invited to participate in Little Shelter’s very own version of musical chairs. Watch them all scramble to step on a pawprint when the music stops until the last one standing claims the grand prize!
Barbeque – 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Feast on hamburgers, hotdogs, salads and more, all cooked to perfection by Little Shelter’s staff and volunteers.

Dr. Elizabette Cohen – 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Dr. Elizabette Cohen, host of WCBS 880’s ‘Your Healthy & Happy Pet’ will be on hand to answer pet questions and sign copies of her book ‘Most of My Patients Wear Fur’. A portion of the proceeds from books sold will be donated to Little Shelter.

See our adoptable dogs strut their stuff on the catwalk. As their do their best Tyra Banks or Heidi Klum, you will hear all about their delightful personalities, how they like to spend their time, and what kind of home they’re looking
for……..maybe yours!
‘Little Shelter’s Got Talent’ Dog Contests – 2:15pm (Open to the public)
If your pooch has a particular talent, or maybe just an amazing physical trait, then you must enter them in some or all of our entertaining dog contests. Contests include owner lookalike, biggest dog, smallest dog, best tail wag, best kisser and of course….best trick!
Blessing of the Animals – 3:00pm (Open to the public)
Bring your pet Little Shelter to receive a special blessing in this very touching ceremony that celebrates the bond we have with our beloved pets. Pastor Paul Britton of Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church will give each pet an individual blessing, thanking them for all the ways that they’ve enriched our lives.
All furry and feathered friends are welcome.

HUGE CHINESE AUCTION
Once again Little Shelter will be hosting Long Island’s BIGGEST and BEST Chinese Auction. Buy chances to enter to win hundreds of items, including gift certificates and stunning gift baskets.
There will be something for everyone!
Drawing will take place on Sunday evening.
