Dear Shelter Directors and
Animal Lifesavers:
We have all faced it ö that
heart wrenching, life-altering decision about an abandoned or
unwanted dog or cat. The reality is that our shelters are
over-filled with abandoned and orphaned pets. Sometimes the hard
choice is that we cannot help more of these discarded little guys ö
and that decision haunts us for the rest of our lives. All of us
want to save lives. And that is just what I am proposing we do ö
join together in a doable effort to save animalsā lives.
Little Shelter is inviting
you to unite with us in a new lifesaving program we have entitled
One Call Saves One Life. It is free; it is easy; but I know it
will make a difference in all our lives. Participating shelters
simply ask associates to make one phone call to encourage one friend
or relative to save one life either by adopting a shelter pet or by
relaying the adoption message to someone else. The enthusiasm and
spirit of that one call can be easily extended to everyone who
enters your shelter. A flyer given to a new adopter or posters
hanging in your kennel and cattery will spread the good word to
everyone ö one call saves one life. Donāt worry about materials;
Little Shelter will provide all the support you need to make One
Call Saves One Life a real success.
Individuals, families,
schools, scouts, and other community groups can also become part of
One Call Saves One Life. In a free moment, make a lifesaving
call on your own. Or to get the message out to more people in the
same amount of time, get your group together and make a host of
telephones ring as each member calls one person with the hope of
saving one animalās life.
Uncomplicated ö yes, but the program is so meaningful. Working
together, we become a solid force in this real push to save the dogs
and cats who need us most. And to show the world our determined and
united effort, the name of each participating group or individual
will be prominently displayed on the Little Shelter web site.
Please take a moment to look over the proper registration form and
fill it out. If you need more information about the program, call
Jill at 631-368-8770 Extension 230. It is so easy to make one call;
it is very rewarding to save one life.
Sincerely,
Maryann Chernovski
