The title character in the movie, Smitty, is a homeless pooch that lost his home due to the ever-growing problem of home foreclosures. Smitty travels across country and eventually ends up in an animal shelter where he is adopted by a young boy and his grandfather. The movie spotlights the positive changes that only a rescued pet can bring, if only they are given the chance!
