Fear aggression toward strangers,
Great with dogs,
Living in foster home

Murray is probably the best looking dog that ever passed through the Little Shelter gates. But he is so fear aggressive that he has never been able to remain in a permanent home.

It takes a long time for Murray to get to know you, and then it takes a longer time for him to get to like you. Murray is one of those dogs that bites first and asks questions later.

Murray would do best in a home with no kids and common sense owners. He must be put away whenever company comes over and should never be left alone with a person that he does not know well.

But once he likes you, he loves you. Murray is one of those dogs that melts your heart because once he gets to know you, his affectionate side comes out. It then takes a lot of restraint to resist trying to introduce him to new people even though you want to prove to them how loving he can be.

Murray has to go to a home that is willing to keep his loving side a secret; a home where his owners don't feel the need to prove to other people that he is a "good dog."

Murray currently lives in a foster home at the sanctuary with his foster parent and seven other dogs. He is housebroken, crate-trained, and has very mild, non-destructive separation anxiety problems.

Update 7/10/06: Oh, crazy Murray - still so crazy!! His coat is much longer and thicker than it ever was - he still is just full of vim and vigor! He LOVES to lay in the water and go for romps in the fields and woods - never going too far. He rooms with Astro - the two nutty boys! He came to us in 1996 and was two years old at the time.

We spay and neuter all of our animals as soon as is medically possible. The miniminal adoption donation paid upon adoption includes all the medical procedures that we have done on the animal being adopted,
including the spaying and neutering.
