Mild fear aggression toward strangers,
Great with dogs,
Living in foster home

Cocoa is a very loving and faithful dog, which makes him prone to separation anxiety. His favorite thing in the world is to lie down and be petted by the people he loves. His least favorite thing in the world is to see you leave.

While Cocoa knows his basic obedience commands, he does not have the desire for obedience training that most of the other dogs at the sanctuary have. But if he were placed in a quiet home, he would make any owner proud.

When introducing new people to Cocoa, it is important to take proper precautions to prevent any fear biting from occurring. But with proper introduction, any dog-friendly person can become one of Cocoa's friends.

Cocoa has lived with children in the past without incident to those particular children. His fear aggression (based on past instances) has been targeted more towards adult male strangers.

Cocoa currently lives in a foster home at the sanctuary with his foster parent and seven other dogs. He is housebroken and he has very mild, non-destructive separation anxiety problems.

Update 7/10/06: Cocoa is such a special boy that just loves life. His coat has turned a beautiful blonde from the sun. He LOVES to go for his runs and LOVES to lay in his pond. He is very people oriented and stays right by your side. His favorite past-time is to enjoy barbecues with his "buddies" and his mom. He rooms with Trailor and they love each other's company. Cocoa has been with us since 1997 and he was 3 years old when he came to us.

We spay and neuter all of our animals as soon as is medically possible. The minimal adoption donation paid upon adoption includes all the medical procedures that we have done on the animal being adopted,
including the spaying and neutering.
